نموذج مركز الأرض
في علم الفلك، نموذج مركز الأرض (المعروف أيضاً ب(بالإنجليزية: "geocentrism") أو النظرة البطلمية للكون بأكمله)، هي نظرية تم استبدالها الآن وكانت تنص على أن الأرض هي مركز الكون والكائنات والنجوم والكواكب الأخرى كلها تدور حوله. الاعتقاد بصحة هذا النظام وهذه النظرية كان شائعاً ومسلماً به في اليونان القديمة. وقد تقبل النظرية وآمن بها كلاً من أرسطو (أنظر فيزياء أرسطو) وبطليموس ومعظم الفلاسفة ولكن ليس كلهم في اليونان القديمة أن النجوم والشمس والقمر والكواكب التي ترى بالعين المجردة تدور حول الأرض. وقد كان هناك أفكار مماثلة في الصين القديمة.[١]
