الشيخ عباس مقادمي الذويبي الثبيتي العتيبي شيخ قراء الحجازين قبل ثمانون عام بمكه المكرمه اسمه الكامل عباس محمد عباس حسين عبدالله علي مقادمي قريويش الذويبي الثبيتي العتيبي، وكانت شهرته عباس مقادمي .. أنه أول من تلا القرآن الكريم في إذاعة جبل هندي وأول من تلاه في إذعةالقرآن الخاصة بـ «أرامكو» . ظهر كقارئ متميز في وقت لم يكن لوسائل الإعلام تأثير كبير. وللقراءة الحجازية صدى خاص لدى محبي القرآن الكريم في مشارق الأرض ومغاربها، لما تتميز به من أس...لوب فريد، يختلف عن تلاوات أخرى كتلك التي تميز قراء أرض الكنانة.. وحينما نتحدث عن القراءة الحجازية لابد أن يقفز إلى الأذهان اسم الشيخ «عباس مقادمي» باعتباره أحد الرواد الذين قضوا حياتهم حاملين لآيات الذكر الحكيم في كل مراحل حياته. وعائلة المقادمي التي ينتسب اليها ضيفنا ليس لها علاقة بعائلة أخرى من مكة تحمل نفس الاسم وهي «السليماني المقادمي» ويجمع بين العائلتين مهنة بيع «المقادم».

ضيفنا يصل نسبه إلى بني سعد، من الذويبات الخيارين ولد عام 1342 هجرية / 1921م، في مكة المكرمة، كان كأي طفل صغير يشع مرحا وبسمة، لكنه أصيب في سن الثالثة من عمره بمرض الجدري في وجهه، وقتها لم يكن هناك إمكانات طبية للتعامل السريع مع هذا المرض، مما تسبب في فقدانه البصر وهو طفل لم يتجاوز الثالثة. في حي سوق الليل بمكة المكرمة تعايش مع واقعه الجديد في كنف والده الذي أراد أن يعوض ابنه نور البصر بنور الذكر الحكيم، فعهد به إلى عدد من الشيوخ البارزين في حفظ وتلاوة القرآن الكريم، وكان على رأسهم شيخ القراء الشيخ أحمد عبدالله حجازي والشيخ، أحمد بن حامد بن عبدالرزاق التيجي الريدي، لقب المقادمي بشيخ القراء بمكة المكرمة في وقته كما لقب بشيخ قراء الحجاز وذلك لعلمه الواسع والعظيم بقراءات القرآن الكريم وعلومه المختلفة وللعدد الكبير من العلماء والقراء المشهورين بمكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة والشام واليمن ومصر الذين أخذوا عنه القراءات وأجازهم في ذلك الوقت. كان يعرف بين الناس والعلماء بتلمذته على أيدي شيوخ قراء كبار مثل الشيخ التيجي. والشيخ محمد سعيد بشناق مدرس في مدرسة تحفيظ القرآن في زقاق الصواغ، والشيخ عبدالرؤوف مرعي شيخ المقرئين في مصر ومدرس في تحفيظ القرآن الكريم، والشيخ سعد عون، والشيخ جعفر جميل البرمكي، والشيخ محمد حسين عبيد والشيخ زيني عبدالله باريان مدرس في التحفيظ والشيخ عبدالصمد جمبي المدرس في تحفيظ القرآن الكريم والشيخ سراج قاروت والشيخ عمر الأربعين في القراءات، وفي الفقه والحديث علوي عباس مالكي في الحرم المكي، وكل المشايخ الذين ساهموا في تكوين هذه الشخصية القرآنية الفذة. عائليا ومقادمي له شقيق واحد من الوالد والوالدة «حسين» رحمه الله وله أخ واحد من ناحية الوالد «حمزة» والذي كان يشغل مدير عام مستودعات مدارس الثغر النموذجية في جدة والطائف، أما من إخوته في الرضاعة فلك أن تعد دون أن تتوقف ومنهم أستاذنا الشاعر إبراهيم خفاجي والفنان الراحل علي صائغ وحامد بغدادي «رجل المبشور في جدة» وأحمد عدس «ابن عمته وأخوه في الرضاعة»، كذلك إخوته من والدته أشهر تجار الأسماك في مكة المكرمة بيت البرنية محمد وحسين برنية رحمهما الله وعبدالرحمن الذي لازال تاجر الأسماك في مكة المكرمة حتى الآن ومنذ 60 عاما، وشيخ الطباخين وابن زوجة أبيه عبدالمعين فياضة، وأبناء عمه وإخوته في الرضاعة الدكتور جميل عبدالله عباس مقادمي الملحق الثقافي السعودي في سفارة خادم الحرمين الشريفين في واشنطن، وعبدالعزيز عبدالله عباس مقادمي المستشار المالي في مصلحة المياه والمجاري، وخالد عبدالله عباس مقادمي كبير قسم خدمة العملاء في الخطوط السعودية، المقادمي له من الأبناء ستة المستشار هاني والمهندس نزار وأربع بنات. وهاني ابنه الاكبر كان قد اختار اسم عباس لاول ابنائه تيمنا بالجد المقرئ. كما أن حسن علي عباس مقادمي مدير عام التحصيل في بترولوب سابقا يكون ابن عمه. ساهمت شخصية الصبي «عباس» المحبة للقرآن، فضلا عن سرعة البديهة والاستيعاب في أن يتخطى حاجز الإعاقة البصرية، فحفظ القرآن الكريم كاملا في سن صغيرة، كان رحمه الله متخلقا بآداب التلاوة وأخلاق القرآن، عالما بالتجويد وعلوم القراءات، شهد له شيوخه بالتفوق على أقرانه المبصرين. وحصل على المركز الأول في مسابقة القرآن الكريم بمكة المكرمة وشهادة شكر من الشيخ محمد علي زينل صاحب مدارس الفلاح في المملكة والهند وحصل على عدة إجازات وشهادات من مشايخ الوطن العربي تؤكد أنه أفضل قارئ للقرآن من الحجاز ورائد القراءة الحجازية، كان يقرأ في الحرم المكي الشريف عند بئر زمزم وعند باب بني شيبة وعمل مدرسا في مدارس الفلاح بمكة والفلاح بجدة والفلاح بالهند. روى العديد من أصدقائه، ومنهم الشيخ إسحاق أبو الحسن البشاوري والشيخ زكي داغستاني والشيخ محمد جمبي أنه اتصف دوما بالكرم، على الرغم من أنه قاسى في صباه مرارة العيش مع فقدان البصر لكي يكسب عيشه بكسب يده. كان -رحمه الله- محبوبا من الجميع، يحب الخير للآخرين، أما مدرسته في قراءة القرآن الكريم فجذبت إليه آلاف المحبين، لاسيما أنه كان يجيد القراءات كلها، وتميزت تلاوته بالقراءة الحجازية التي تميز أهل مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة، فاستطاع أن يبرز ويرسخ أقدامه في وقت لم يكن لوسائل الإعلام تأثير كبير وواضح كما الحال في هذا العصر. وحينما أرادت إذاعة القرآن والتليفزيون السعوديين التسجيل مع الشيخ عباس مقادمي وهو يتلو القرآن الكريم صوتا وصورة، رفض ذلك بشدة مخافة أن يكون في ذلك محظور شرعي، وأصرعليه شيخه محمد سعيد بشناق للتسجيل في الإذاعة لكنه عدل عن رأيه حينما استيقن جواز الأمر، فوافق على التسجيل لاسيما بعد أن أقنعه القائمون على الأمر بأنه سينقل تلاوته إلى أجيال وأجيال نحو مئات السنين. بعدها وافق أيضا على التسجيل لإذاعة «أرامكو» فكان أول قارئ فيها. وفي 12/ 5/1373هـ / 1953 بعدها ذهب إلى الهند في مهمة تدريس، فكان ــ رحمة الله ــ أول قارئ سعودي يتردد صوته بالتنزيل الحكيم في الإذاعة الهندية، ومكث في الهند أربعة أعوام يعلم القرآن الكريم ويصدح بآياته آناء الليل وأطراف النهار دون أن يرده عن ذلك وهن ولا يمنعه فقدان بصر، على الرغم من المكانة الواسعة التي اكتسبها الشيخ عباس مقادمي، وعلى الرغم من أنه عهد إليه بافتتاح جميع المناسبات المحلية والدولية التي تقام في مكة المكرمة بما تيسر له من آيات الذكر الحكيم، إلا أنه لم ينشغل بذلك عن آخرته، فلم يكن حريصا على الدنيا حرصه على الآخرة، لذا خصص لنفسه وردا من القرآن الكريم وجلسات الذكر اليومية، كما كان حريصا على زيارة المقابر للموعظة والتذكير، ومما يؤثر عنه أنه كان يدعو لهؤلاء الموتى بأسمائهم، موقنا بأنه سيكون معهم في يوم من الأيام، وقد توفي رحمه الله عن 69 عاما في محل صديقه الشيخ إسحاق أبو الحسن البشاوري للنظارات في مكة بتاريخ 27/7/1411هـ. قرأ الشيخ عباس مقادمي القرآن الكريم في الحرم المكي بحضور شيخ القراء الشيخ أحمد حجازي وقراء الحجاز والشيخ عبدالباسط عبدالصمد الذي أعرب عن انبهاره بالأداء المتميز للشيخ المقادمي، مؤكدا أنه استطاع أن يتنقل بأسلوبه تنقلات تصعب على غيره، ووصفه بأنه أستاذ التلاوة الحجازية. كتبت عنه الصحف المحلية والدولية والمجلات ووصفته تلكم الصحف بأنه رائد القراءات الحجازية، رحمه الله.. وأيضا كتب عنه في كتاب «العناية بالقرآن في القرن الثالث عشر» . وفي مجلته «المنهل» قال عبدالقدوس الأنصاري في ربيع الأول 1371هـ ديسمبر 1951 ما يلي: أحسنت إدارة الإذاعة السعودية في اختيار الشاب الشيخ عباس مقادمي، ضمن قراء القرآن المجيد، من محطة الإذاعة. لما جمع الله له من جودة القراءة، وحسن الصوت، وجمال النغمة وتأثير التلاوة. فسجلت له جميع سور القرآن، تخليدا لهذه القراءة الممتازة، ولهذه النغمة المتميزة الأصيلة التي قد تكون لها صلة بتلاوة ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه ذلك الصحابي الأشعري اليماني الذي قال له الرسول عليه السلام بعد أن استمع طويلا إلى تلاوته وهو لا يراه: «لقد أوتيت مزمارا من مزامير داوود». ويقول الكاتب الإعلامي خالد الحسيني: على مدى سنوات طويلة بدءا من السبعينات الهجرية استطاعت الإذاعة «إذاعة جدة تحديدا» أن تقدم العديد من البرامج «المتقنة» والتي بقيت ذكراها لليوم ومن ذلك اختيارها للعديد من «الأصوات» لقراءة القرآن الكريم وربما كان «تفر» الإذاعة في تلك الفترة ساهم في جذب الناس لمتابعتها إلى جانب حسن الاختيار للقراء والمحدثين. قراء غادروا الدنيا ولازالت أصواتهم سواء في التسجيلات الخاصة أو عبر «النت» اليوم صوتا وصورة رغم مرور نصف قرن بل وأكثر على بداياتهم. أذكر المشايخ في تلاوة القرآن الكريم في الفترة الصباحية أو يوم الجمعة زكي داغستاني، سراج قاروت، زيني بويان، جميل آشي، جعفر شيخ، عباس مقادمي، من إذاعة جبل هندي قبل نصف قرن وكلهم رحلوا على مدى السنوات الماضية وكان آخرهم السيد جعفر شيخ يرحمهم الله جميعا. وتحديدا يوم الجمعة وقبل دخول وقت الصلاة يلتقي الناس في تلك الفترة مع صوت الشيخ سعيد محمد نور ــ يرحمه الله ــ وهو من «السودان الشقيق» يقرأ سورة مريم، «كهيعص ذكر رحمة ربك عبده زكريا». ويقول الزميل الإعلامي وابن مكة المكرمة هاني اللحياني إن المقادمي ابن سوق الليل في مكة المكرمة يعتبر واحدا من أشهر المقرئين الذين كانت تلاواتهم تبثها إذاعة القرآن الكريم. وفقد بصره وهو في سن الثالثة من العمر بسبب مرض الجدري الذي أصابه في وجهه مما أجبره على العيش في كنف والده في حي سوق الليل.. ويقول ابنه هاني مقادمي إن والده حفظ القرآن الكريم بأحكامه وتجويده على يد الشيخ محمد سعيد بشناق والشيخ أحمد غندرة والشيخ عبد الصمد جمبي الذين كانوا يدرسون القرآن الكريم في مدرسة القشاشية أقدم مدارس تحفيظ القرآن في مكة المكرمة، كما أن الشيخ المقادمي واصل تعليمه في حفظ كتاب الله بحلقات المسجد الحرام على أيدي المشايخ محمد عبيد وجعفر جميل وأحمد حجازي والشيخ المقادمي لم يرغب في أن يحقق طلب القائمين على إذاعة القرآن التي افتتحت قبل أكثر من خمسين عاما وقد رفض الشيخ المقادمي لأول مرة طلب المستشار غسان قاضي بتسجيل تلاوته عبر أثير الإذاعة الذي سوف يبث لأول مرة وكان موقعها على قمة جبل هندي لكن الشيخ المقادمي عندما أدرك الآثار المترتبة لتسجيل تلاواته وإمكانية استفادة المستمعين في كثير من الدول المجاورة وافق على الخطوة الأهم وكان أول من سجل بصوته تلاوت للقرآن الكريم، ويعتبر الشيخ المقادمي من بين أهم الأصوات الجميلة التي كانت تتفنن في تلاوة القرآن الكريم خاصة أنه كان يجيد القراءات السبع.. وكان القارئ الشيخ زكي داغستاني يعتبر الصديق الحميم له.. حيث جمعت تلاوات القرآن بينهما ليكونا صديقين من بوابة ذكر الله تعالى. ويقول الشيخ د. عبد الله بن علي بصفر الأمين العام للهيئة العالمية لتحفيظ القرآن في مجلته «الهدى» الصادرة عن الهيئة في 7/7/1430هـ : للمقام الحجازي في قراءة القرآن الكريم أداء جميل في نفوس محبي القرآن الكريم لما يتميز به من أسلوب فريد يلامس شغاف القلوب.. وحينما نتحدث عن القراءة الحجازية نرجع إلى الوراء ونتذكر صوت فضيلة الشيخ عباس مقادمي،رحمه الله. نسبه ومولده هو الشيخ عباس محمد عباس مقادمي ذويبي الثبيتي، نسبه من بني سعد في الطائف، اشتهر والده في بيع المقادم، وانتقل إلى مكة ليقطن فيها فعاش بها حتى توفي. ولد له الشيخ عباس. عاش الشيخ عباس مع والده في حي سوق الليل بمكة المكرمة، وأراد والده أن يعوضه بنور القرآن الكريم فحفظ القرآن الكريم بالتجويد مع معرفة أحكامه على يد شيخ القراء الشيخ أحمد حجازي ــ رحمه الله ــ في عام 1369هـ وعلى يد الشيخ محمد سعيد بشناق المدرس في مدارس تحفيظ القرآن الكريم في القشاشية بمكة المكرمة، والشيخ محمد بشناق، والشيخ سعد عون، والشيخ جعفر جميل، والشيخ محمد عبيد، وفي الفقه والحدث درس على يد الشيخ السيد علوي المالكي، فأسهموا جميعا في تحفيظه للقرآن الكريم وتعليمه العلوم الشرعية وشهد له شيوخه بالإتقان والضبط. وحصل على ثلاث إجازات من الأزهر الشريف وشهادات شكر وتقدير من وجهاء ومشايخ بلاد الإسلام. مع القرآن في الآفاق لقد من الله على الشيخ عباس مقادمي ــ رحمه الله ــ بصوت محبب للنفوس عند سماعه، وزين تلاوته بالقراءة الحجازية التي تميز بها أهل المدينتين المقدستين مع إتقانه للقراءات العشر، فاستطاع بفضل الله أن يبرز في وقت لم يكن لوسائل الإعلام فيه تأثير كبير كما هو الحال في عصرنا. ويعتبر فضيلة الشيخ عباس مقادمي القارئ المعروف في الاذاعة والتلفزيون واحد ابرز القراء الذين شهدتهم المملكة خلال نصف القرن الماضي ورغم انه فقد بصره فقد تميز في القراءة وقوة الحفظ منذ طفولته. ومن تلاميذه الشيخ عباس مقادمي ـ رحمه الله ـ الشيخ زكي داغستاني، والشيخ محمد صالح باعشن، والسيد محمود رشاد محمد علي فارسي، وكانا صديقيه الحميمين، والشيخ اسحاق البشاوري. قالـوا عنـه قال الشيخ زكي داغستاني «كان الشيخ عباس كريم الاخلاق، يحب الخير للناس وصوته جذاب في قراءة القرآن الكريم وكان يجيد القراءات العشر، ويتسم بالذكاء وقوة الملاحظة.في عام 1370هـ قرأ الشيخ عباس مقادمي ـ رحمه الله ـ القرآن الكريم في الحرم المكي الشريف بحضور شيخ القراء الشيخ احمد حجازي وجمعا من قراء الحجاز، وبحضور الشيخ عبد الباسط عبد الصمد ـ القارئ المصري المعروف ـ الذي اعر عن اعجابه بأداء الشيخ المتميز، ووصفه بانه استاذ التلاوة الحجازية». وقال الشيخ محمد الكحيلي ــ (أحد جلساء الشيخ المقادمي في الحرم المكي الشريف): «كان الشيخ من الحكماء والكرماء، سخيا في معاملته مع الناس عزيز النفس، شديد الذكاء، متميزا في أدائه للقرآن الكريم». وقال الشيخ محمد طاهر حناوي: كان المقادمي من القراء المتميزين بالحجاز وخارجها صاحب صوت شجي ومؤثر في النفوس، وكان عندما قرأ في المغرب الشقيق طلب منه الحضور أن يعلمهم القراءة الحجازية. وكان رجلا كريما مؤدبا متواضعا، وكل من جالسه أحبه وكان يتكلم بعدة لغات». ويقول سجاد مصطفى كمال الحسن أمين عام الجمعية الخيرية لتحفيظ القرآن الكريم في مكة المكرمة إن «المقادمي أحد أشهر قراء عصره في مكة المكرمة والمملكة، سمعته وقابلته مرارا فهو صاحب صوت مميز ومن أوائل القراء الذين سجلوا للإذاعة السعودية وهو من جيل مشايخنا تميز بصوته العذب وحنجرته الذهبية وتنوع مقاماته الحجازية، وأنا طالب من طلابه». وكان الشيخ عباس مقادمي ملازما للشيخ محمد سعيد بشناق طيلة حياته، ويقول المستشار غسان قاضي «أول ما فتحت إذاعة القرآن الكريم بمكة في جبل هندي لم يكن فيها قراء وذهبت إلى الشيخ عباس مقادمي طالبا منه القراءة والتسجيل بصوته فكان أول قارئ في إذاعة القرآن بمكة المكرمة قبل 50 عاما وكان المشرف على القراء في إذاعة القرآن بمكة المكرمة». وكان الشيخ عباس محبوبا ويحب الخير وصوته كان جذابا حين قراءة القرآن وكان يجيد القراءات السبع، كما أنه قاسى في صباه مرارة العيش مع فقدان البصر لكي يكسب عيشه بكسب يده، كما كان شديد الملاحظة والذكاء. ومن خصائصه عدم حبه للتصوير وقليلا ما يخضع للكاميرا والمصور، ومن أجمل آثاره أن كثيرا من تلاوته وضعها اليوم محبون له .. نغمات جوال.

Leader of Saudi Reciters Reluctant to Record for Broadcasting Radio Stations Reciting through Amazing Intonations & Acoustic Layers Sixty Years Ago in Mecca Moved with His Recitations to India & Admired by Abdul Basset Abdul Samad Great Figures from Foundation Period – by Ali Faqandash Prominent figures from diversified fields and domains; those were the ones who had founded this great entity named "Kingdom of Saudi Arabia". At the time the Founding Father Abdul Aziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud had fulfilled the great task which is the Foundation of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. There were prominent figures in all fields. Also, they were talented and gifted in several fields and domains such as urban construction, culture, education, medicine, and arts, alongside with the most important field which is Religion—regarded the principle and cornerstone of this great country. In this regard, several religious scholars emerged; and from that specialization, reciters of the Holy Qur'an had emerged. Creativity of reciters of the Holy Qur'an was demonstrated at general gatherings until after records had overwhelmed radio stations, then TVs. During the last sixty years, hearings and spectrum in Saudi Arabia had been nurtured at the steps of Egyptian reciters such as Mohammed Refaat, Abdul Basset Abdul Samad, Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Housary and others. Then, such prominent figures in recitation of the Holy Qur'an had been heard by elder people, such as Abbas MAGADMI, Abdullah Khayat, and several reciters then to follow. This week, we are to make a research on this figure that had been cared by Saudi first media marked men such as Abdul Qudus Al-Ansari. His full name is Abbas Mohammed Abbas Hussein Abdullah Ali MAGADMI Qurayoush Al-Zuwaiby Al-Thubaity Al-Otaibi—well known as Abbas MAGADMI. However, first of all, I would ascertain to the dear reader that searching for such figure would require a tremendous effort and follow-up as a bunch of people had provided assistance in fulfilling this uphill task—among them are his son Counselor Hani MAGADMI, Counselor Mustafa Sabry, the former Secretary-General of Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Jeddah, and colleague Khalid Al-Hussaini. In addition, several publishing had led us to the importance of this man and his honorable history—especially that he was the first one who had recited the Holy Qur'an in Jabal Hindi Radio Station; as well as the first one who had recited the Holy Qur'an in ARAMCO Holy Qur'an Radio Station. He had appeared as a distinguished recite at a time there was not a single shadow of mass media. Hijazi Recitation has its own merit for those who like to hear the Holy Qur'an all over the world thanks to its unique style that differs from other recitations such as recitation that characterizes Egypt. When talking about Hijazi Recitation, Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI should come across our minds thanks to being among the pioneers who had spent their lifetimes holding the verses of Holy Qur'an at all stages of his lifetime. Family of Al-MAGADMI, our guest, has nothing to do with another family holding the same surname based in Mecca which is "Al-Sulaimani Al-MAGADMI". The common ground between the two families is the profession which is the sale of Offal's. Today our guest's kinship, back to the tribe of Bani Saad, was born in 1342 H (1921 G) in Holy Mecca. As a young child, he was full of joy and happiness. At the age of three, he was stricken by smallpox in his face. At a time, there was no medical leverage to rapidly react and treat this disease. As a result, he had lost his sight at the age of three. In the district of Souk Al-Lail District, in Holy Mecca, the boy started to cope up with his new life with his father who had wanted to make it up for his child and compensate him through the glow of the Holy Quran. Then, the father had made the son attend the Holy Qur'an recitation and memorization sessions held by several prominent sheikhs topped by Chief Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Hejazi, Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamed bin Abdul Razak Al-Teji Al-Redi. Al-MAGADMI was surnamed the sheikh of all reciters of Holy Qur'an in Holy Mecca at a time. Also, he was nicknamed as the sheikh of Hijaz Reciters of Holy Qur'an thanks to his vast and tremendous knowledge and awareness of the recitations of Holy Qur'an as well as the relevant diversified sciences and the great number of scholars and renowned reciters in Holy Mecca and Madina, the Levant, Yemen and Egypt who had captured these recitations and been licensed by him at that time. He was known among people and scholars that he was tutored at the hands of great reciters of the Holy Qur'an such as Sheikh Al-Teji, and Sheikh Mohammed Saeed Beshnak—a teacher in Holy Qur'an Memorization School in Al-Souwagh Alley—and Sheikh Abdul Raouf Maari, chief of Holy Qur'an reciters in Egypt and teacher in Holy Qur'an Memorization School, and Sheikh Saad Aoun, Sheikh Jaffar Jameel Al-Barmaki, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Obeid, Sheikh Zaini Abdullah Barian, teacher in Holy Qur'an Memorization School, and Sheikh Abdul Samad Jambi, teacher in Holy Quran Memorization, and Sheikh Seraj Quarout, and Sheikh Omar Al-Arbaeen in Recitations, and in jurisprudence and Hadith, Alawi Abbas Maliki in the Holy Mosque, and all other sheikhs who had contributed to form this unique Qur'an personality. Familial Viewpoint MAGADMI has one parental deceased brother named Hussain. He has also one parental brother named Hamza, who had assumed the position of director-general of warehouses of Al-Thagr Model Schools in Jeddah and Taif. As for his nurturing brother, there are limitless. Among them are our poet Ibrahim Khafaji, and the late artist Ali Sa'egh and Hamed Baghdadi, "Husked Man in Jeddah" and Ahmed Ads, his cousin and nurturing brother. As well, his brothers from mother are considered the most renowned fish dealers in Holy Mecca, Al-Barneya's the late Mohammed and Hussein Barneya's and Abdul Rahman who has been trading fish in Holy Mecca sixty (60) years ago and to date. Additionally, the chief of chefs and son of the stepmother named Abdul Moein Fayyadah, and his cousins and nurturing brothers Dr. Jameel Abdullah Abbas MAGADMI, Saudi Cultural Attaché in the Embassy of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Washington; and Abdul Aziz Abdullah Abbas MAGADMI, who works as Financial Advisor in the Sewage Department; and Khalid Abdullah Abbas MAGADMI, Head of Customer Service Department in Saudi Airlines. Al-MAGADMI has six sons; namely, Counselor Hani, Engineer Nezar, and four daughters. Hani, the elder son, had named his first son Abbas after the Holy Qur'an reciting grandfather. As well, Hassan Ali Abbas MAGADMI who was previously holding the position of director-general of collection in Petrolobe is his cousin. In addition to cuteness and comprehension, the Holy Qur'an loving personality of the child, Abbas, had contributed to overcome the visual impairment as he had managed to memorize the entire Holy Qur'an when he was young. He had also characterized by good conduct and behavior of the Holy Qur'an—knowing all about the ethics and sciences of recitation. His tutors had acknowledged that he had achieved excellence and overdone his colleagues who do not suffer from any impairment. Further, he had been ranked first in the Holy Qur'an Competition in Holy Mecca and a recognition certificate from Sheikh Mohammed Ali Zeinel, proprietor of Al-Falah Schools in Saudi Arabia and India. He had further been licensed and awarded certificates from Arab World Sheikhs and religious scholars. That had evidenced the fact that he had been the best reciter of the Holy Qur'an in Al-Hijaz region and the lead in the Hijazi recitation of Holy Qur'an. He was reciting the Holy Qur'an in the Holy Mosque at Zamzam, and at Bani Shayba Gate. He had worked as a teacher in the Al-Falah Schools in Holy Mecca, Jeddah and India. A number of his friends, among them Sheikh Ishak Abul Hassan Al-Bashawri, Sheikh Zaki Daghistani, Sheikh Mohammed Jambi, had told that he had been featured by generosity and hospitality though being lived in an abject poverty alongside with the bitterness of visual impairment and suffered a lot to gain his living. He—May ALLAH Bless his soul—was very a dear one among his colleagues and all his friends. He liked good for others. His recitation school had attracted thousands of people who had liked his recitation—especially that he was perfect at all recitations of Holy Qur'an. His recitation had been characterized by Hijazi recitation that distinguishes people in Holy Mecca and Madina. He had managed to be prominent and to firmly establish his feet at a time where mass media had never had any influence or effect as presently. When the Saudi Radio and TV stations wanted to record with Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI while reciting the Holy Qur'an, Sheikh Abbas had refused to do that for fear of being religiously prohibited. His Sheikh Mohammed Saeed Beshnak had insisted on that Sheikh MAGADMI had to record for the Radio Station. However, Sheikh MAGADMI had accepted to record for the Radio Station after making certain that it is religiously permitted. Then, he had accepted to record for the Radio Station particularly after the concerned officials convinced him that his recitation would be transferred to generations for hundred years to come. After that Sheikh MAGADMI had accepted to record for ARAMCO Holy Qur'an Radio Station so as to be the first Holy Qur'an Reciter in it. In 12/05/1373 H (1953 G), Sheikh MAGADMI had gone to India in a teaching mission so as to be the first Saudi Reciter of Holy Qur'an in the Indian Radio Station. He had stayed in India for four years teaching and reciting the Holy Qur'an verses day and night without any fading or wading enthusiasm or visual impairment. And despite the wide spread rank gained by Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI; and in spite of being assigned to inaugurate all domestic and international occasions and events held in Holy Mecca through reciting verses of the Holy Qur'an, the Sheikh had not been preoccupied by the daily life as he had been keen to the afterlife. Therefore, he had devoted himself a chapter of Holy Qur'an on a daily basis, in addition to the daily Holy Qur'an sessions. Also, he had been eager to visit the cemeteries for preaching and reminding. He had also been known for praying for those deceased by their own names, being confident that he would be among them one day. Sheikh MAGADMI had died at 69 in his friend's store, Sheikh Ishak Abul Hassan Al-Bashawri for Optics, in Mecca in 27/07/1411 H. Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI had read the Holy Qur'an in the Holy Mosque in presence of the Grand Sheikh of Reciters Sheikh Ahmed Hijazi and Hijazi reciters, as well as Sheikh Abdul Basset Abdul Samad who had expressed his admiration with the unique and distinct recitation of Sheikh MAGADMI. Additionally, Sheikh Abdul Basset Abdul Samad had ensured that Sheikh MAGADMI had managed to move in with his recitation style very difficult movements that would be so difficult for others to do. He had further depicted Sheikh MAGADMI of being the master of Hijazi recitation. More than that, a lot of local and international papers and magazines had written editorials and articles about him describing him as the lead of Hijazi recitations. In the book entitled "Caring with the Holy Qur'an in the Thirteenth Century", Sheikh MAGADMI had also been noted. In his magazine, Al-Manhal, Abdul Qudus Al-Ansari, in Rabi I 1371, December 1951, told the following: Administration of Saudi Radio Station had done well when selecting the young Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI among other reciters of the Holy Qur'an, thanks to his unique method of recitation, good sound, beauty of tone, and influential impact of recitation. And in memorization of such unique recitation, all Holy Qur'an chapters and Surat had been recorded. And thanks to the original unique tone likely to be related to the recitation of Ibn Massoud, one of the Al-Ash'ari Yamani Companions who had been told by Prophet Mohammed—Peace Be Upon Him—after listening to him for a very long time while not seeing PBUH Prophet Mohammed, "You'd been gifted with Psalms of David". Media Author, Khalid Al-Hussaini, told, "For several years starting from the seventies on the Hijri calendar, the Radio Station—specifically Jeddah Radio Station—had managed to present several "perfect" programs which had been memorized to this date. Among these perfect programs was its selection to several "sounds" for recitation of the Holy Qur'an. Perhaps such "rarity" at that time in Radio Station had contributed to attract people to it, alongside with its good selection of reciters of the Holy Qur'an. Reciters had died. However, their recitations are still listened in private recordings or via the Internet, at both levels of sound and picture, despite the elapse of fifty years and more since its inception. Among the Sheikhs reciting the Holy Qur'an in the morning period or on Fridays are Zaki Daghistani, Seraj Quaroot, Zaini Bouyan, Jameel Ashi, Jaffar Sheikh, and Abbas MAGADMI, from Jabal Hindi Radio Station fifty years ago. All of them had died over the past several years. The last one was Jaffar Sheikh—May ALLAH Bless their souls. Especially on Friday and before the prayer time, people had always been listening to the voice of Sheikh Saeed Mohammed Noor, from Sudan, reciting Surat Maryam: "Kaf Ha Ya Ain Suad" "A mention of the mercy of your Lord to His servant Zachariah" Media colleague and the Mecca-ian, Hani Al-Lahyani, told that MAGADMI, son of Souk Al-Lail District in Holy Mecca, is considered one of the most renowned reciters of the Holy Qur'an whose recitations had been broadcasted by the Holy Qu'ran Radio Station. He lost his sight at the age of three due to being infected in his face by the smallpox. Therefore, he had been obliged to live within his father's confines in the district of Souk Al-Lail. His son, Hani MAGADMI, told that his father had memorized the Holy Qur'an with provisions and recitations at the hands of Sheikh Mohammed Saeed Bashnak and Sheikh Ahmed Ghandarah, as well as Sheikh Abdul Samad Jambi, who had taught his the Holy Qur'an in Al-Quashashyah School which is considered the oldest school for Holy Qur'an Memorization. Additionally, Sheikh MAGADMI had pursued his education in memorizing the Holy Qur'an at seminars and sessions held at the Holy Mosque at the hands of Sheikh Mohammed Obeid, Sheikh Jaffar Jameel, and Sheikh Ahmed Hijazi. Sheikh MAGADMI did not want to satisfy the request of the officials of the Holy Qur'an Radio Station inaugurated fifty years before. At first, Sheikh MAGADMI had refused the request of Counselor Ghassan Quadi to record his recitations alive through the Radio Station, which had been scheduled to be broadcasted for the first time. The location was at the top of Jabal Hindi. However, when Sheikh MAGADMI had realized the impacts ensuing from recording his recitations and the possibility for listeners to benefit from such recorded recitations in several neighboring countries, he had accepted to make the most important step; and had then been the first to record his recitations of the Holy Qur'an. And when we are talking about Hijazi intonation and recitation of the Holy Qur'an, we can return back and remember the magnificent voice of Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI. Pedigree & Birth He is Sheikh Abbas Mohammed Abbas MAGADMI Al-Zuwaiby Al-Thubaity; and is affiliated to Bani Saad in Taif. His father had been renowned for sale of offal. Then, he had moved to Mecca to live there until he died. He had the son Sheikh Abbas. Sheikh Abbas had lived with his father in Souk Al-Lail District in Mecca. His father had wanted to compensate his son through the glow of Holy Qur'an. Hence, the young son had managed to memorize the Holy Qur'an with full knowledge of recitation and intonation at the hands of leading Sheikh Ahmed Hijazi in 1369 H as well as at the hands of Sheikh Mohammed Saeed Bashnak, who had been a teacher in Holy Qur'an Memorization Schools in Al-Quashashyah, Mecca, and Sheikh Mohammed Beshnak, Sheikh Saad Aoun, Sheikh Jaffar Jameel, and Sheikh Mohammed Obeid. In jurisprudence and Hadith, Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI had been taught by Sheikh Al-Sayed Alawi Al-Maliki. In fact, all those people had greatly contributed to Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI's memorization of the Holy Qur'an and full knowledge of religious sciences. A large number of Sheikh MAGADMI's teachers and sheikhs had acknowledged his proficiency and preciseness. Therefore, Sheikh MAGADMI had been awarded three licenses from Al-Azhar, in addition to recognition certificates from prominent figures and sheikhs all over Islamic countries. With Holy Qur'an in Prospects As a matter of fact, ALLAH has blessed Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI with magnificent voice that would leave an impressive impression to those who like listening to the Holy Qur'an. Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI had decorated his recitation and intonation with the Hijazi recitation and intonation by which inhabitants of the two holy cities were characterized. In addition, Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI had been characterized by being perfect in the ten recitations. Thanks to ALLAH, Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI had managed to be distinguished at a time where mass media had had no influence as at present. Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI, the well-known reciter of the Holy Qur'an in Radio and TV, had been among the most prominent figures reciting the Holy Qur'an witnessed by Saudi Arabia during the last sixty years. And despite his visual impairment, Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI was distinctive in reading and memorization since he was a child. Among his students were Sheikh MAGADMI, Sheikh Zaki Daghistani, Sheikh Mohammed Saleh Ba Ashan, and Sheikh Mahmoud Rashad Mohammed Ali Farsi. His closest friends were Sheikh Mohammed Saleh Ba Ashan, Sheikh Mahmoud Rashad Mohammed Ali Farsi, in addition to Sheikh Ishak Al-Bashawari. Quotations about Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI Sheikh Zaki Daghistani said about him, "Sheikh Abbas was very decent; likes good for people; and his voice had been so magnificent in reciting the Holy Qur'an. In 1370, Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI had recited the Holy Qur'an in the Holy Mosque in the presence of leading Sheikh of reciters, Sheikh Ahmed Hijazi, and a large number of Hijaz reciters; and in presence of Sheikh Abdul Basset Abdul Samad, the Egyptian renowned reciter of Holy Qur'an. The renowned Egyptian reciter, Sheikh Abdul Basset Abdul Samad, had expressed his admiration of the distinct performance of Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI and further described him as the Master of Hijazi Recitation". Sheikh Mohammed Al-Keheily—one of the attendants of Sheikh MAGADMI's sessions in the Holy Mosque—told, "The Sheikh was wise and generous figure, so generous with his dealings with people; and was further characterized by nobility, acute intelligence, and very distinguished in reciting the Holy Qur'an". His Excellency previous Saudi Minister of Information Dr. Mohammed Abdo yamani in Documentary Jazeerah Channel in 27/06/1431A.H. that Sheikh Abbas Magadmi as one of the symbols present in the Holy Place in Makkah in which Hijazi reading are spread. Abbas Magadmi masters the readings with high voices and multiple tones with variation in keys, the more high the voice the more beauty it will be without tension in the key, his recognition was in that he hold the ethics of Qur'an and he masters the readings and is the first to read Qur'an in Saudi Broadcast in Hindimountain before sixty five years in Holy Makkah and the first to read in the Indian broadcast and the first to read in ARAMCO broadcast in Jeddah, God bless him. Sheikh Mohammed Mahmoud Altablawi the general sheikh of readers and chief of readers in Arab Republic of Egypt said that Sheikh Abbas Magadmi is one of the pioneer readers characterized by good voice without competition in strength of performance and golden larynx and control on his voice from young age to being elder, God bless him widely. Sheikh Mohammed Taher Hennawi told, "Sheikh MAGADMI was among the most distinguished and prominent reciters of the Holy Qur'an in the Hijaz region and outside the province; his voice was characterized by sorrow and sadness that would leave a touching impression. When he had gone to Morocco for reciting the Holy Qur'an, the attendees had asked him to teach them the Hijazi recitation and intonation. He was a polite decent and modest person. He was a likable character for all who had known him. Additionally, he had been perfect at several languages." Sajad Mustafa Kamal Al-Hassan, Secretary-General of Holy Qur'an Memorization Charitable Society in Holy Mecca, told, "MAGADMI was among the most renowned figures reciting the Holy Qur'an at his time in Holy Mecca as well as in the whole Saudi Arabia. I had met and heard him several times as he was characterized by very distinct voice; and was considered among the leading figures reciting the Holy Qur'an who had recorded for the Saudi Radio Station. Further, he had been classified among the lead generation of sheikhs as his voice had been featured by sweetness, gracefulness, and diversity in Hijazi intonations and recitations. I am one of his students." Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI had been a close companion to Sheikh Mohammed Saeed Bashnak all his lifetime. Counselor Ghassan Quadi told, "When the Holy Qur'an Radio Station was first started in Jabal Hindi, in Mecca, there had not been any figures reciting the Holy Qur'an. Therefore, I had gone to Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI asking him to recite and record with his voice. Then, he had become the first figure to recite the Holy Qur'an in the Holy Qur'an Radio Station fifty years ago. More than that, he had been supervising all other figures reciting the Holy Qur'an in the Radio Station in Mecca." Sheikh Abbas had been a likable character and benevolent. His voice had been magnificent when reciting the Holy Qur'an as he had been perfect at the seven readings. Although he had been suffering to make his living in his childhood in addition to his visual impairment, Sheikh Abbas MAGADMI was very cute and intelligent. Among his features was that he did not like photography as he had been rarely pictured or being subject to a photographer. The most marvelous effect of Sheikh Abbas is that a large number of his recitations and readings are used nowadays as cellular ring tones.
